I read the review and noticed H&W did not get very good ratings but I decided to give them a try based on the few positive reviews I did read. I have to tell you that I am so happy I did. From the very beginning, they were professional, knowledgeable, prompt, and answered all my questions. I was given a more than fair quote and even came down a little more after I received another quote from another fencing company. The sales person Darrel was very polite, extremely helpful especially after I provided him with my Land survey. He saved me from future headaches regarding property lines. He always answered my calls and when he was not available, he would call back within the hour. His office administrator, Michelle, was also very professional, helpful, quick to respond to my emails and very pleasant. Even the field workers were a joy. They were very polite and if something was wrong or questionable, they would bring it to my attention before moving forward with the project. I put in a ranch style vinyl fence and it looks fantastic. The work was done in a timely manner, they cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. They are a great team. I would highly recommend this company.

Expert Deck Replacement in Jacksonville, FL
Deck replacement in Jacksonville is more than a cosmetic upgrade. Jacksonville's humid subtropical climate pushes year-round humidity between 70 and 90 percent, which accelerates wood rot, mold growth, and structural decay faster than in drier regions. When boards warp, joists soften, or railings loosen, a full replacement is often the right call over repeated patch repairs. At H&W Fence Co, we assess the full structure, remove the old deck, and build a new one from the ground up. We look at framing, ledger connections, post footings, and surface boards before any new material goes down. Jacksonville homeowners dealing with soft spots underfoot, splintered boards, or visible rot at the post bases are the people we work with most. If your deck has reached the point where repairs keep stacking up, a full replacement gives you a clean, code-aligned structure built to hold up in Florida's heat, rain, and humidity. Call H&W Fence Co to schedule your on-site assessment.

Deck Replacement FAQ
Common questions about deck replacement in Jacksonville, FL.
Full replacement is the right move when rot has reached the joists, posts, or ledger board. Soft spots underfoot, leaning railings, and boards that crumble when probed are signs the structure is compromised beyond surface repair.
Yes, we remove the existing structure completely before building the new deck. Starting fresh lets us inspect the footings and framing connections that a surface repair would leave hidden.
Yes, Jacksonville's high year-round humidity is the main reason decks deteriorate faster here than in drier climates. Choosing materials and finishes rated for humid subtropical conditions makes a real difference in how long your new deck holds up.
Yes, attached deck replacements are a common project for us in Jacksonville. We inspect the ledger connection to your home's rim joist and rebuild it correctly so the new deck is structurally sound where it meets the house.
We replace surface boards, framing, posts, and hardware as needed based on what the inspection reveals. Every component that shows rot, corrosion, or structural weakness gets addressed before the new deck goes in.
A structurally sound, visually clean deck is a positive factor for Jacksonville buyers and home inspectors. Replacing a failing deck removes a common inspection flag and gives buyers confidence in the outdoor space.
